Mighty Touch
How human beings explore the objects in the daily life is important to their perceptions of the object. People use specific gestures to perceive the surface texture, hardness, temperature, shape, weight and etc.
The spontaneous touch and rubbing over the object in various directions is a common approach of human fingertip and hand towards all kinds of products.
Generally, the physical contact between the fingers and objects could bring several aspects of effects:
- Unique soft-chemo-mechanical abrasion
- Fingerprint or dirt affinity
- Surface texture features: macro/micro roughness, viscoelasticity
- Vibration: when a finger slides across an object, vibrations are generated that propagate through the skin, it also perceives surface texture properties through vibration.
